The purpose of this meeting was to provide background on the CDBG-MIT grant and the Committee’s charge, and then hold a discussion about how the Committee and staff working together should fulfill that charge.

Forum: provide recommendations for smooth implementation
Substantial Amendment No. 1 to the CDBG-MIT Action Plan designated specific projects and budgets for a portion of this funding as follows:
1) Stormwater Infrastructure Projects to prevent repetitive loss in the Blanco Gardens area: $16 million for two projects: Blanco Gardens Drainage Improvements and Blanco Riverine Flood Mitigation
2) Flood Early Warning System as described in the CDBG-MIT Action Plan $300,000
3) Purchase of Additional Signs and Barricades $60,000
San Marcos citizens are encouraged to review the proposed changes and comment on them! The citizen review and comment period for Substantial Amendment No. 1 to the CDBG-MIT Plan will be from Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 9:00 p.m.
