Lisa Prewitt - Place 1
Lisa Prewitt was elected to the San Marcos City Council on Nov. 5, 2013 for a three- year term in Place 1, and re-elected for a three- year term in Place 1 on Nov. 8, 2016. She took the oath of office on Nov. 21, 2016, and currently serves as the mayor pro tem.
Councilmember Prewitt has called San Marcos home for 25 years. Since 1995, she has operated a small business in San Marcos that provides landscape services and design to San Marcos and the surrounding areas.
In addition to her service to the community as an elected official and small business owner, Councilwoman Prewitt served as the co-chair of the Comprehensive Master Plan Steering Committee through adoption of the plan. She also served as co-chair of the San Marcos Watershed initiative before being elected to council.
Currently, she serves as a board member for the San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau and serves as chair of the Capital Area Rural Transportation System board of directors. She also serves as a member of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, San Marcos River Foundation, and San Marcos Heritage Association.
Councilmember Prewitt is a strong advocate of public transportation opportunities in the community and region. She also has a passion for small business retention and development, as well as, collaborative integration of community and economics.
Lisa and her husband are the proud parents of four children - all of whom are graduates of San Marcos High School.
