    We have extended the hours for Adult Pickleball Open Play! It is now offered on Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM– 12:00 Noon and 9:00 – 11:30 AM on Fridays, at the San Marcos Activity Center. Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.00 for residents and $4.00 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. If you would like to learn more about the sport, you are welcome to attend a session to observe and give it a try, free of charge.   4. 50+ Duplicate Bridge

    The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Texas Capital Bridge Association to offer Duplicate Bridge every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center. The San Marcos club is a member of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which has over 167,000 members who play duplicated bridge in 3200 clubs across the United States, Canada and Mexico.     KZSM, San Marcos’ only community radio station, is looking to train new radio hosts! Anyone in the community is invited to attend these free classes, as well as audition for their own radio show. Participants are expected to attend all three dates if the intent is to host your own radio program. You are welcome to come and go if you are simply interested in learning. Registration is required. January 3: Overview of the radio station, functions and procedures, as well as day-to-day operations of radio hosting. January 10: Learn the software for recording, editing, and operating a radio station. January 24: Tweaking the hardware – learn hands-on with a real control board. Then you’ll be ready to for your own show!
