New Sculptures! Public Viewing and Discussion with finalists

Monday, November 13, 2017

The City of San Marcos Arts Commission wants your input regarding proposed public art. Four artists have been chosen to present their detailed proposals and to-scale maquettes for public discussion. The goals for these designs are to create sculpture that beautifies San Marcos, promotes tourism, and highlights endangered species existing solely in the San Marcos River. The final Texas Kinetic Blind Salamander Sculpture will be placed in the City’s sculpture garden located in front of the San Marcos Activity Center. The final Texas Wild Rice Sculpture will be placed near the San Marcos River. For moreinformation on the sculpture finalists and their existing bodies of work, visit out their websites: Texas Blind Salamander Sculpture Finalists: Robertus Van der Wege: John King: Texas Wild Rice Sculpture Finalists: Joe Barrington: Christopher Lattanzio:
