Slime Rodeo

San Marcos Public Library

Which slime is best? Come test them out! For ages 4 to 12. Registration required.

  

Chess Night

August 1, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

All ages and skill levels are welcome. The library provides chess sets, clocks, and basic instruction.

 

Storytime

August 2, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.

 

Yarn in the Community

August 2, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The library invites all fiber folks to enjoy sewing, knitting, or crocheting in good company. Bring your own materials and a current project.

 

Baby Storytime

August 2, 12:00 p.m.

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!

 

Herbalism Club: The Art of Cooking with Herbs

August 4, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Let's talk about herbs! Join us for an ongoing herbalism knowledge-share with other local gardeners, foragers, and plant lovers. Feel free to bring favorite books, recipes, seeds or cuttings to swap, or just come ready to learn.


Guided Piano Meditation

August 4, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Learn to move your body in the way it wants to move with energy alignment dancing with piano. Presented by Brett Somers.

StarLab Mobile Planetarium

Experience the wonders of the night sky in the comfort of the library! Step inside the StarLab for an immersive look at the cosmos! Six exciting shows on two days. For ages 4 and up. Registration required. Presented in honor of L. Dianne Murray.

 

Computer Class

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.


1st Wednesday Book Club

August 7, 1:00 p.m.

Adults discuss 1491: New Revelations of the Americans before Columbus by Charles Mann.

 

LEGO Mania

August 8, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.
