Library News

Growing Up Wild

December 12, 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Come out to this nature experience! We’ll read books on different nature topics each month, followed by a fun craft or outdoor activity. Preschool aged children are welcome to attend our 10:00 a.m. session, while school aged children should attend our after-school session at 4:00 p.m.


Storytime

December 13, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Baby Storytime

December 13, 12:00 p.m.

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


Storytime With Sirena: A Mermaid's Christmas

December 14, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Every family is welcome to attend this interactive, bilingual storytime! Local storyteller "Sirena" (mermaid in Spanish) will lead children in lively stories and songs, introducing some Latin-American holiday traditions. Families will also have an opportunity to share stories of their own holiday stories and traditions. After the stories and songs, families will create holiday ornaments to take home. Don't forget to get a picture with Sirena before you leave!


Shut Up and Write!

December 15, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

With a "just do it" attitude, Shut Up and Write! is for anyone trying to finish a writing project. No critiques or group share allowed. The first 30 minutes are for introductions and to discuss writing challenges followed by one hour dedicated to work in silence. Job Search and Résumé Assistance

December 15, 2:30 p.m.

Applying for work? This program provides hands-on assistance with your job search, including advice on job seeking, résumé and cover letter writing, networking, and how to apply for jobs. No registration required. This service is free.


Puppet Show! Too Much Noise at Santa’s House

December 17, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The library puppeteers perform a puppet show for all ages.


Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

December 17, 12:00 p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and fun in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Cuentos, canciones, y diversión en inglés y español.


Computer Class

December 18, 10:00 a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.


Teen Christmas Party

December 18, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Come join us for some Christmas fun! Chow down on holiday snacks and enjoy a hot cocoa bar while making tacky Christmas trees and watching Home Alone. For 6th-12th graders.


Jennifer’s Book Chat

December 18, 6:30 p.m.

The goal of Jennifer's Book Chat is to discover books and authors we didn't know we'd love. Staff member Jennifer will announce a surprise topic each month. Together we'll select books to discuss at the upcoming meeting. Serious readers, this program is for you.
