Microsoft Office Certification Registration (Part 2)
January 30, 1:00 p.m.
You must have attended Part 1 on January 28. Free classes meet Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. from February 3 to May 28. This class will cover: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, typing, business letters and e-mails, copiers, phones, scanners, fax machines, resumes, and interviewing.

Master Gardeners: Planting a Perennial Garden for Spring
January 30, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Perennial gardens can transform any space with colors, textures, and dimension to enjoy year after year. However, “perennial” is not synonymous with “work free.” Taking the time to plan all aspects of your garden can reduce the effort and is the first step in your long-term relationship with your thriving garden. Herbalism Club: Essential Oils

Angela McGrady and Megan Warren will present information on the use of essential oils, their chemistry, and what to include in an herbalist’s essential oil starter kit. Informative handouts will be provided for the group.
Job Search and Résumé Assistance

Applying for work? This program provides hands-on assistance with your job search, including advice on job seeking, résumé and cover letter writing, networking, and how to apply for jobs. No registration required. This service is free.
Collage Making
February 2, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Join Cathy Sparks and other adults in collage making. Collage is the art of creating an image by assembling varied materials on a two-dimensional surface. Supplies are provided, but you are welcome to bring special materials you might want to incorporate into your collage.
AARP Tax Aid
February 3, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Trained volunteers from AARP prepare individual tax returns for free at the library. Appointments available and walk-ins welcome. Bring all tax-related documents, including last year’s tax return, social security cards for all dependents, and a photo ID. Make appointment at aarp.org/taxaide.

Preventing Falls

In the U.S., 20–30% of older people who fall suffer moderate to severe injuries, such as bruises, hip fractures, or head trauma. Attend this info session, by Camille Phillips, to gain valuable information on how to prevent falls.
Teen Advisory Board
February 4, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Teen Advisory Board is a group of teens interested in making a difference at the library. TAB members play a critical role in developing the library’s young adult collection, young adult outreach, event planning, and making the library a friendlier place for young adults. Teens can earn volunteer hours for attending. For 6th-12th graders.

Book Talk & Music with Dr. Gregg Andrews

Join Gregg Andrews, aka Doctor G, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History at Texas State University and singer/songwriter, as he reads excerpts from his memoir My Daddy’s Blues: A Childhood Memoir from the Land of Huck and Jim and sings songs inspired by incidents and experiences from his childhood. Book signing and refreshments to follow.
