Starting Monday, June 15, the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department will open online registration to San Marcos residents for the Discovery Camp and Summer Fun summer camp programs. Non-residents will be able to register beginning Monday, June 22.

Both camp programs will begin on Monday, July 13 and will meet for four weeks from 7:30 a.m. to 5:20 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Registration will only be accepted online. Account creation and program registration can be found at https://apm.activecommunities.com/sanmarcostx/Home. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Summer Fun

The Summer Fun program is for children ages seven to 13. Children as young as six are eligible if they can provide verification of the completion of first grade. Summer Fun provides children with an opportunity for socialization and excitement. This year’s program will be held at Hernandez Elementary, 333 Stagecoach Trail. The cost is $32 per child per week for residents and $50 per child per week for nonresidents. Summer Fun will include staggered drop-off and pick-up times, to be selected when registering online.

Discovery Camp

Discovery Camp is for children ages five to 10. Children will participate in activities that encourage team building, critical thinking and leadership skills, as well as activities that promote learning in the following areas: science, math, history, art and physical education. Discovery Camp will be held at the Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Drive. The cost is $150 per child per week for residents and $175 per child per week for nonresidents.

Breakfast and lunch will be included through San Marcos CISD. Field trips will not be scheduled for either camp program this summer.
