Did you know that gift wrap and bags cannot be recycled?
Our provider, Texas Disposal Systems, doesn't accept gift wrap and bags with other paper products in the residential or apartment recycling program. Most gift wraps have dyes, glitter, plastics, and other materials that are not easily recyclable. This also goes for bows, ribbons, and tinsel.
These materials are also not accepted in the residential green waste cart. Please dispose of them in your garbage cart or garbage dumpster if you live in an apartment.
Sustainable tip! Consider saving gift bags, bows, and ribbons for reuse next time you need to wrap a gift!
