A new take on move-out. Waste less. Donate more.
Moving out of your apartment this summer? Skip the packing-induced stress by donating unwanted goods to Bobcats Give Back July 5th - August 6th.
The City of San Marcos Resource Recovery Division is pleased to announce the return of Bobcats Give Back, a sustainable move-out program that encourages students to donate unwanted goods rather than throwing them away.
The program launched in 2019 was a huge success, with over 6,000 lbs of donations received. Unfortunately, the City was unable to offer the program during 2020 due to COVID-19.
Students can donate various goods, including non-perishable food, clothing, shoes, electronics, small appliances, kitchen supplies, luggage, school supplies, and other household items. For a detailed list and examples, please visit www.sanmarcostx.gov/bobcatsgiveback.
Donations will benefit local organizations and reuse businesses. This year's partners include Goodwill, Green Guy Recycling, Habitat ReStore, Hays County Food Bank, Hays-Caldwell Women's Center, San Marcos CISD, San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, Southside Community Center, and Texas State School of Social Work.
Participating apartment complexes: Aspire, Bishops Square, Copper Beech Townhomes, Elevation On Post, Hillside Ranch Apartments & Cottages, Sanctuary Lofts, The Heights, The Outpost, Treehouse Apartments, Uptown Square, Vie Lofts, Vintage Pads, & Westfield
