After a two-month search, Interim City Manager Stephanie Reyes has selected Jonathan Locke as the City of San Marcos’ Director of Finance/CFO. Locke will join the City team beginning August 1, and was chosen from a nationwide candidate pool of 15 applicants. Mosaic Public Partners assisted the City with the search.
“I am excited to be part of such a growing, dynamic, and diverse community,” said Locke. “I am honored to join an incredible team and serve the residents of San Marcos.”
Locke brings more than 18 years of financial leadership experience. He last served the City of Killeen for more than seven years as Executive Director of Finance. He previously served the City of Big Rapids, Michigan as City Treasurer, and began his career at Perry County Job & Family Services in Ohio as Assistant Director.
“We are super excited Jonathan is joining our City Team,” said Interim City Manager Stephanie Reyes. “He will bring his strong financial management expertise and experience to our Finance Department. We’re confident he’ll be a strong asset to the City and community as a whole.”
Locke earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Franklin University in Ohio. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Finance Officer. He is an active member of the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas, recently elected to the Board of Directors as the Central Representative and serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee.
