Dog of the Week: Big Joe (50402456)
Big Joe is a very handsome American Bulldog/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix! At only a year old, he's over 50 pounds and has very calm energy. He enjoys spending time outside and sniffing all the different smells. Since Big Joe is heartworm-positive, he is eligible for foster-to-adopt while he finishes his heartworm treatment, which is fully covered by the shelter. After completion of treatment, the adoption can become official! If you have another dog in your home, Big Joe would love to meet them to see if they can be pals. Big Joe is ready to be a part of a family that will love him unconditionally and gives him a life filled with happy memories.
Cat of the Week: Calm (50345094)
Calm doesn't live in the sea, but she could live in your home! This adorable little floof ball is three months old and weighs only a pound. Clam has a spicy personality, but she just needs an adopter who will show her patience and lots of love. She is also very curious and eager to come out of her shell (pun intended!). As long as you give her treats and a cozy bed, she'll be your best friend in no time!
Both pets are available for adoption at the San Marcos Regional Shelter. All ready-to-go pets, defined as cats and dogs that have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, are $22 until further notice. This special price includes spay/neuter, vet exam, vaccinations and a microchip. To meet our pets, please visit us in person at the shelter, open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
