On Wednesday, October 12, the City of San Marcos hosted a Downtown Open House to invite the public to see the progress made on the Downtown Area Plan for San Marcos. Community members had the opportunity to provide input on key topics and ideas.
A Virtual version of the Open House is now available to allow participation from additional community members who were not able to attend the event or who would prefer to provide input virtually. The in-person/virtual Open House will bring community ideas to life by presenting key recommendations for how to achieve the downtown vision and goals.

About the Downtown Area Plan: As part of the Vision SMTX Comprehensive Plan, City Council provided direction to create a Downtown Area Plan to take a closer look at the future of downtown within the larger citywide Comprehensive Plan. San Marcos’ existing Downtown Master Plan, adopted in 2008, is nearing 15 years old. The Downtown Area Plan process will create an updated vision for the future guided by community and stakeholder input with several opportunities to provide input.
