Books are Vitamins for Your Baby's Brain!
Every week, the San Marcos Public Library provides parents and caregivers with books, story times, puppets shows, games, crafts, and other activities to stimulate young minds and nurture creativity.
“If you’re like most parents, your life is probably moving at warp speed. Reading to your babies is a great way to wind down and bring the two of you closer together — and it's a free, family-time activity with books from the public library,” said children’s librarian Ashley Schimelman.
The San Marcos Public Library offers pre-walking children and their caregivers a weekly lap-sit story time during “Babies Need Books” on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. through Nov. 10. Participate in stories, songs, and developmentally-appropriate activities to help your baby grow and learn early literacy skills.
The library also offers “Story time for Toddlers” at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, and “Story time for Preschoolers” at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
