Fundraiser Basketball Game

Schertz Basketball Game

Members from the San Marcos Fire and Police Departments and Hays County Sheriff's Office played a good game of basketball against Schertz Police Department on Saturday, April 28, 2018. It was a fundraiser, Battle of the Badges, at Corbett Junior High School to raise scholarship money for worthy students in the Schertz area. It was a large event complete with cheerleaders, referees, scoreboard, music, delicious food, and crazy fans! Basketball fans of all ages supported the event to either laugh or taunt the players or cheer to motivate them.  Members from the SMFD that participated were; Vincent Marin, Tanner McLean, and Ben Hatley, SMPD; Adrian Marin, Kevin Blackwood, and Tommy Villanueva, HCSO; Cody Cheatham, Michael Fuentes and Eric Clark. Unfortunately, the San Marcos public service team lost by 5 points, 72-67, but it was all for a good cause and the game was lots of fun.
