Mayor Jane Hughson and City Council Member Melissa Derrick were sworn in, and the results of the Nov. 6 election canvassed, Wednesday, Nov. 14 at City Hall.

A runoff election has been called for City Council Place Four, the unexpired term vacated by Hughson, and for City Council Place 5 on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

Running for Place Four are Mark Rockeymoore and Shane Scott, and for Place Five are Jocabed “Joca” Marquez and Rick Henderson.

Early voting for the runoff election begins Nov. 26 at the Hays county Government Center Conference Room, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail:
