San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter ‘Pets of the Week’

Cat of the Week:  Mr. Pickles

Mr. Pickles is a beautiful two-year-old domestic short hair with piercing eyes. He’s a sweet boy who loves to be scratches behind the ears and plenty of pampering! He can be a little nervous around other cats, so he would do best living in a home as the only cat. Mr. Pickles is already litter-trained, and would be a great fit for any calm and relaxed household.

Dog of the Week: Starla

Starla is a shy girl just looking for love. This one-year-old Chow Chow mix is very timid when you initially meet her, but will give you so much love once she warms up. She doesn’t like the loud barking in the shelter, so she would do better in a quiet household with a family that will give her the time and attention she needs to get comfortable.

All adoptions include the pet’s spay or neuter, kennel vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip and city license. For more information or to adopt one of our Pets of the Week, visit or contact Animal Services at (512) 805-2650.
