COVID-19 Update

On behalf of the entire Planning and Development Services Department, we hope everyone is remaining safe amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Together we can flatten the curve. At this time, all Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are being conducted virtually online. Click here for information on how to view or participate in an upcoming meeting. Additional information and updates on COVID-19 can be found on the City's website.

Inspections

The Building and Environmental Inspections staff has completed over 5,500 inspections since March 1! They have kept our single family and commercial construction projects moving while also maintaining their safety by wearing face protection, social distancing, hand washing, and offering video inspections to homeowners. Our department is offering video call inspection services, through Skype, for all occupied home inspections, to help ensure the safety of our citizens and our staff. Please contact Michael Gleason at mgleason2@sanmarcostx.gov for more information.

Russell Curtis

Russell Curtis achieves gold standard!

Congratulations to Russell Curtis, our Senior Combination Inspector / Plans Examiner for obtaining a Master Code Professional Certification, a designation achieved by only 900 professionals worldwide! This is the highest level of designation offered by the International Code Council (ICC) and is considered the Ph.D of building safety code certifications. Curtis has been in the inspection / code industry for 30 years and is committed to make sure construction projects are completed safely for our residents. This has taken years to complete, and we congratulate him on this amazing accomplishment. You can read the full article and interview here.
