  1. 50+ S.M.A.S.H. Trail Tours

    July 11, 2018, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Schulle Canyon Natural Area

    Trail Tours focuses on parks and natural areas that provide great walking trails. If you would like to walk the trails with us, bring something to drink, a hat and maybe a walking stick and camera. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. We will meet at 10:00 AM at each park or natural area, on the first or second Wednesday of the month. This FREE program is for ages 50 and up. Join us for some outdoor adventures, friendly socializing and a little exercise. For more information, call (512) 393-8400. Schulle Canyon Natural Area, July 11: We will kick off the first tour of Summer with a tour at Schulle Canyon Natural Area. Take Moore St (Old Ranch Road 12) toward Wimberley. Turn right on Holland St. at traffic light. Turn left on Alamo St. (2nd left). Follow Alamo to dead end at kiosk and parking area.

Parks & Rec Youth Programs

  1. Discovery Camp - Keep San Marcos Beautiful Week

    July 9, 2018 - July 13, 2018 @ Dunbar Recreation Center

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5-10 at the Dunbar Recreation Center. Registration for residents is $150/week and begins on April 2. Registration for non-residents is $175/week and begins on April 23. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have FUN! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information.   2. Camp Quest Week 1

    Camp Quest is a week full of fun. City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is offering this camp for ages 7-14 (they can be 6 if they have completed the first grade). This camp cost $115 for residents and $130 for non-residents, this includes lunch and a various field trip each day to different museums, play places, zoo’s and ect. Registration begins on April 2 for residents and April 30 for non-residents. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri at the City Park Rec Hall. Lunches are provided by SMCISD and one field trip each day is included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information. You can sign up in person at 401 E. Hopkins Street.
