  1. Adult Pickleball Open Play

    July 19, 2018, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ San Marcos Activity Center Gym

    Adult Pickleball open play is offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the San Marcos Activity Center! Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.25 for residents and $4.25 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. If you would like to learn more about the sport, you are welcome to attend a session to observe and give it a try, free of charge. For more information, call (512) 393-8275.

  2. 50+ S.M.A.S.H. Bowling Social

    July 19, 2018, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Sunset Bowling Lanes

    Join us every month for a SMASH Social Club, Bowling Social. The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation and Sunset Bowling Lanes are hosting a Bowling Social every month. These bowling events are for ages 50 + and will be held from 2-4 PM at Sunset Bowling Lanes, 1304 HWY 123, San Marcos, TX. The fee for this event is $5.00/ person and includes shoe rental and 2 games of bowling. We do ask that you RSVP to nriali@sanmarcostx.gov or call (512) 393-8275 so we can get a head count to reserve enough lanes. The $5.00 cost will be paid to Sunset Bowling on the day of the event. Parks & Rec Youth Programs

  1. Discovery Camp - Friends of Trees

    July 16, 2018, 7:30 AM - July 20, 2018, 5:30 PM @ Dunbar Recreation Center

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5-10 at the Dunbar Recreation Center. Registration for residents is $150/week and begins on April 2. Registration for non-residents is $175/week and begins on April 23. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have FUN! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information.     Summer Fun is an 8 week long program (with a one week break between) hosted by the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department for kids ages 7-14 (they can be 6 if they have completed the first grade). The 2 school sites are Bowie Elementary and Travis Elementary . Registration for residents is $32/week and begins on April 2. Registration for non-residents is $50/week and begins on April 23. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Breakfast and lunch are provided by SMCISD and one field trip a week is included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information.
