  1. Adult Pickleball Open Play

    July 26, 2018, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ San Marcos Activity Center Gym

    Adult Pickleball open play is offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the San Marcos Activity Center! Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.25 for residents and $4.25 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. If you would like to learn more about the sport, you are welcome to attend a session to observe and give it a try, free of charge. For more information, call (512) 393-8275.

  5. Canine Behavior Problem Prevention

    Maria Victoria Garcia, a certified canine training and behavior specialist, will instruct on preventing common behavior problems such as jumping, chewing, barking, pulling, begging, digging, inappropriate elimination, etc. She will give you the tools to mold your dog/puppy into an upstanding canine citizen and family member. Free, all ages welcome. No dogs permitted for this event.

Parks & Rec Youth Programs

  1. Discovery Camp - Indigenous Cultures Week

    July 23, 2018, 7:30 AM - July 27, 2018, 5:30 PM @ Dunbar Recreation Center

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5-10 at the Dunbar Recreation Center. Registration for residents is $150/week and begins on April 2. Registration for non-residents is $175/week and begins on April 23. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have FUN! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information.   2. Summer Fun - Week 6

    Summer Fun is an 8 week long program (with a one week break between) hosted by the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department for kids ages 7-14 (they can be 6 if they have completed the first grade). The 2 school sites are Bowie Elementary and Travis Elementary. Registration for residents is $32/week and begins on April 2. Registration for non-residents is $50/week and begins on April 23. Camp runs from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Breakfast and lunch are provided by SMCISD and one field trip a week is included in camp fees. Please call 512.393.8400 for more information.
