Tales on the Trails2020-11-01T00:00:00The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, San Marcos Public Library, and Community Action, Inc. are partnering to bring you Tales on the Trails. Each month will feature a different story that you can follow along with as you explore our beautiful parks and natural areas. The first ever Tales on the Trails will be set up at Spring Lake Natural Area during the month of November and will feature "Grow Grateful" by Sage Foster-Lasser and Jon Lasser. As you navigate the trail, follow the story of Kiko as she goes on a camping trip with her class and learns about gratitude. You and your family are invited to take a self-guided tour starting at the Lime Kiln trailhead of Spring Lake Natural Area. Visit www.sanmarcostx.gov/youth for more information.

SMTX Veterans Month of Service - Week 2: Sponsor a Wreath2020-11-08T00:00:00The City of San Marcos, with assistance from the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee and local veterans’ organizations, will be hosting a month of service opportunities for the community to honor all who have served. These opportunities will replace the traditional Veterans Day Parade the City hosts each year.
November 8-14 - Sponsor a Wreath: Visit the Wreaths Across America website to sponsor a remembrance wreath to be placed on gravesites of veterans buried in the City of San Marcos Cemetery on December 19, 2020, Wreaths Across America Day. Wreath sponsorship starts at $15 per wreath. Sign up as a volunteer for Wreaths Across America Day.

SMTX Hometown Holiday Shoebox Parade - Float drop off2020-11-14T10:00:00The City of San Marcos will be hosting the inaugural SMTX Hometown Holiday Shoebox Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, online at 2 p.m. The parade is dedicated to promoting community engagement, holiday spirit, and shopping local in the great city of San Marcos. There is no cost to participate.

Thursday, Nov. 12 at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, 202 N. C.M. Allen Pkwy, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
