Clay and Ceramics

Clay and Ceramics for Adults: Take advantage of this opportunity to make art at your own pace. This ceramic workshop allows you to explore hand building, wheel throwing, sculptural techniques, electric kiln firing, and surface finishing techniques. Instruction is based on individual levels of experience while you explore your own creativity. Please note, there are no pre-made figures for hand painting, you make your own art. Your fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and firing services each week. All attendees are responsible for purchase of glazes. Classes are held at the Dunbar Recreation Center. Clay/Ceramics - Beginner Hand-Building / Open Studio: This workshop is a space to create ceramics in a laid back, open studio environment. Explore hand building, wheel throwing, sculptural techniques, electric kiln firing, and surface finishing techniques. Instruction is available for beginners and those needing prompt or inspiration, but this is not a structured class. This is your opportunity to create anything you want regardless of skill level. Please note, there are no pre-made figures for hand painting, you make your own art. Your fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and firing services each week. All attendees are responsible for purchase of glazes. Bringing your own tools is encouraged. Classes are held at the Dunbar Recreation Center. Belly Dancing

Belly Dancing is an ancient form of art and dance taught in a fun and invigorating environment. Our experienced instructor will teach you how to shake, shimmy, and move your body to the beat of the music. Opportunities for performances are available for committed students. This course is ongoing which means you can join at anytime. Beginner classes are held on Tuesday nights at the San Marcos Activity Center at 6:45pm and Intermediate classes are held at 7:45pm. The cost is $10 per session.

Tai Chi

Beginner Tai Chi is a slow and soft martial art form that is excellent for the brain, for balance and body awareness, and for calming and centering the mind. Instructor Margaret Falletta has practiced Tai Chi for 26 years and has taught for 14 years. She was a student of Master Xiang Dai of Beijing for over a year and studied with Heloise Gold of Austin since 1999. Margaret looks forward to sharing her knowledge and passion for Tai Chi.
