Hot Spot Clean Up

The Habitat Conservation Plan and KSMB have partnered to focus on an area of litter that will effect the San Marcos River with a concentration on little pieces of litter that aquatic life will mistake for food.

  • Occurs every first Saturday of the month!
  • The location changes each month to an area around town in need of some extra attention!
  • Everyone and anyone is welcome! This event is suitable for people of all ages.
  • Check the Volunteer Events page or our Facebook page to find out where we will be!
  • Hot Spot Streep Sweep:

    • Our quarterly Street Sweep focuses on taking clean up efforts to the neighborhoods! This is still the first Saturday of the month but four times a year, we dedicate the Hot Spot Clean Up to focus on different neighborhoods.
    • Litter pick up efforts in the neighborhoods help prevent storm water runoff pollution and keep our river clean!

Adopt-a-Spot

  • Adopt-a-Spot, Street, or Park in San Marcos with your family, friends, organization or even just by yourself!
  • Your group will be responsible for cleaning and beautifying your own spot of San Marcos at least six times a year.
  • One of your cleanups can be the Great Texas River Clean Up, held the first Saturday in March, or Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off, the largest cleanup day for the State of Texas.
    • Forms: Adoption Registration
Cleanup Sign In & Summary Report
      Liability Waiver
  • Contact Katie Garcia if you are interested in Adopting-a-Spot!
