Police Report

ONLINE REPORTING IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE WHILE THE SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT TRANSITIONS TO A NEW COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCHING AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. CITIZENS NEEDING TO FILE A POLICE REPORT SHOULD CONTACT THE NON-EMERGENCY DISPATCH NUMBER AT 512-753-2108. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911.

Citizens Online Police Reporting System (COPRS) is a web-based reporting service that allows the public to report certain types of crimes online. You may also register serial numbers for your personal property. All reports filed online will be reviewed in the order they are received. Response time to online reports can take as long as two weeks. Online reports are not monitored 24/7, and the public is urged to call 911 for emergencies.

You may report the following: burglary of a coin-operated machine, burglary of a vehicle (any amount), harassment, identity theft, lost property, theft under $2500 (separate from burglary of a vehicle), or vandalism under $1500 in damage.

You can NOT report the following online: Credit/Debit Card Abuse, Burglary of Habitation, License Plates, Stolen Drugs/Narcotics or Guns.

***IF YOU NEED TO FILE A CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFT REPORT, PLEASE CALL THE NON-EMERGENCY POLICE NUMBER INSTEAD OF FILING ONLINE*****

When filing the online report, "evidence" means blood splatter, weapons, or identifiable items left behind by a suspect. Photos that pertain to your incident are not evidence but you can submit those at a later time in the online report.

If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If your incident is not on the list, call our non-emergency line at 512-753-2108 and request to file your report either in person or via telephone.
