Finance Department

Responsibilities

The Finance Department is responsible for financial reporting and safeguarding assets of the City of San Marcos. The department oversees revenue collections, utility billing, property tax administration, purchasing, investments, fixed asset management and financial reporting.

Provides clear and meaningful financial information not only by posting financial documents, but also through summaries, visualizations, downloadable data and other relevant information.

Budgets

Current and archived budget reports available. Reports are updated on a monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year basis. All Propose and Adopted reports available.

A-Accounting Icon

Accounting

Oversees and manages financial processing for vendor invoices, tracks open payables, prepares pre-check registers, automatically batch generate checks, and maintains vendor & expenditure history based on requirements.

Responsible for managing the procurement and contracting for all goods, capital equipment, technology, and all services for the City's operations.
