Bring your own teacup and saucer and we’ll provide the hot water and tea! Join us as we delve into all things tea! This program is an ongoing herbalism knowledge-share with other local gardeners, foragers, and plant lovers. If you can’t bring your own cup, we’ve got you covered.


Password Security Class

January 5, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Learn how your passwords are stored and secured, how they can be compromised, and what you can do to protect your internet and mobile app accounts. Presented by Irene Foelschow.


Collage Making

January 5, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Cathy Sparks and other adults in collage making. Collage is the art of creating an image by assembling varied materials on a two-dimensional surface. Supplies are provided, but you are welcome to bring special materials you might want to incorporate into your collage. Collage--the universal art!

High School Equivalency (Formerly GED) Registration

January 7, 9 a.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Adults wanting to prepare for the High School Equivalency exam come register for our free classes. Classes meet Monday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Power to Care

Having trouble paying your utility bill? Need tips for conserving energy and possibly lowering your bill? Margerie Marshall, with Community Action will present information on whether your household qualifies for utility assistance. Jan Klein, Conservation Coordinator with the City of San Marcos will offer energy saving tips.


Teen Advisory Board

January 7, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Teen Advisory Board is a group of teens interested in making a difference at the library. TAB members play a critical role in developing the library's young adult collection, young adult outreach, event planning, and making the library a friendlier place for young adults. Teens can earn volunteer hours for attending. For 6th-12th graders.


Computer Class

January 8, 10 a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.


1st Wednesday Book Club

January 8, 1 p.m.

Adults discuss Desert Queen by Janet Wallach.


Your Financial New Year

January 8, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Set realistic resolutions for financial progress in 2020. Evaluate your budget, savings, and goals while adjusting plans to make the most of the upcoming year. Presented by Terry Lee, a financial adviser with Raymond James.


English Language Learners Registration

January 8, 6:30 p.m.

English classes for adults. Clases de inglés para adultos. Classes are Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 PM. Las clases son los lunes y miércoles de 6:30-8:30 PM. All interested adults must attend an orientation before class begins. Todos los adultos interesados deben asistir a una orientación antes de comenzar la clase.
