Library News

High School Equivalency (Formerly GED) Registration

January 9, 9:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Adults wanting to prepare for the High School Equivalency exam come register for our free classes. Classes meet Monday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m.


LEGO Mania

January 9, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.


Storytime

January 10, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Baby Storytime

January 10, 12:00 p.m.

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


2020 Vision

January 12, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Have a vision and want to make it happen in 2020? Join us to make your very own Vision Board. This fun collage project will help you represent and affirm your dreams and ambitions, and aid you in visualizing specific aspirations. We’re providing most materials, but it’s recommended you bring pictures that represent your “vision.” Example: if you want to visit Italy, print a picture of a place in Italy. Presented by Cathy Sparks.


Job Search and Résumé Assistance

January 13, 5:30 p.m.

Applying for work? This program provides hands-on assistance with your job search, including advice on job seeking, résumé and cover letter writing, networking, and how to apply for jobs. No registration required. This service is free.


Storytime

January 14, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

January 14, 12:00 p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and fun in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Cuentos, canciones, y diversión en inglés y español.


Free Legal Advice from Licensed Attorneys

January 14, 6:00 p.m.

Meet one-on-one with licensed attorneys to receive free legal advice on civil legal problems, such as family, housing, consumer, and caregiver authorization. Onsite registration begins at 6:00 p.m.; legal aid starts at 7:00 p.m. Must sign in before 7:00 p.m. to speak with an attorney. Spanish interpreters are available. A supervised waiting area for children is available.


Computer Class

January 15, 10:00 a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.
