Members of the San Marcos Fire Department has joined local forces with New Braunfels, Kyle, and South Hays fire departments, along with San Marcos/Hays County EMS, to deploy to Katy to assist in rescuing victims from the catastrophic flooding in the Houston area.
Fire Chief Les Stephens, Battalion Chiefs Aaron Crawford and John Koenig, Captains Frank Arredondo, Jonathan Henderson, and Tory Turner and Engineer Bobby Nance drove Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV), EVAC 1, a Zodiac rescue boat, a Ford F-250 4x4 to tow the boat and a staff car, on Monday, August 28, to Katy, Texas. They plan on returning in about two weeks.
