The Planning & Development Services Office received a demolition application for a portion of the building located at 133 South LBJ Drive; see photos below. The building was evaluated with a Medium preservation priority in the My Historic SMTX historic resources survey. Therefore, the application is subject to the regulations of Chapter 2, Article 7, Division 4: Demolition Review of Historic Age Resources of the San Marcos Development Code.
The Historic Preservation Commission of the City of San Marcos will hold a public hearing via a hybrid of an in person and virtual meeting on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 5:45 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins to consider the 90-day demolition delay period and discuss alternatives to demolition and methods for potential preservation of historic character of the property.
