On Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, San Marcos Fire Department will host their annual flag raising ceremony to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001. At this public, flag raising ceremony, the San Marcos Fire Department Honor Guard will raise the flag that flew over City Hall on September 11, 2021.  The poem “The Tolling of the Bell” will be read followed by the ringing of the historical fire bell and a moment of silent reflection. The public is invited to place flowers at a flower memorial, which will be up all day Friday (until around 4:30) for anyone that would like to stop by and add a flower. The flag will fly over City Hall over the weekend.

The event will last about 20 minutes.
