The San Marcos Arts Commission is accepting applications for 2022-2023 Arts and Cultural Grants now through Sept. 12, 2022. Information and links to the online application are posted on the Arts Commission’s website

The City will host an in-person application workshop at the San Marcos Activity Center Multipurpose Room, 501 E. Hopkins, on Aug. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Potential applicants will receive an overview of the process and requirements for the grant.

The Arts and Cultural Grants Program are separated into two distinct grants, each supported by different City funds. Each event application can only receive funding from one grant category: the Arts and Cultural Tourism grant for programs expected to attract visitors from out of town; and the Community Arts Grant to support arts and cultural programs for the local community.

Nonprofit groups and individual artists are eligible for the program.

Examples of previously funded events include Summer in the Park, Indigenous Cultures Institute – Scared Springs Powwow, Eddie Durham Jazz Festival, Walker’s Gallery and the Pride Festival.
