The City Council provided direction to Planning and Development Services staff to research fee revenue and actual cost of service to process permits, review applications, and inspect permitted projects. Staff researched fees charged by other cities and analyzed the average cost of service considering the time it takes to process applications from initial submittal to final inspection. Based on the findings of that research the department proposed increases to the fee schedule which were approved by Council (Ordinance 2017-05) and went into effect on March 1, 2017.
