[ARCHIVED] Main Street Announces Finalists for Love Downtown Awards

A call for downtown award nominations has closed, and finalists have been named for the 2018 Love Downtown Awards.


More than 1,000 nominations were received for the various categories from the local community. Finalists were selected based on their contributions to the downtown business community and the vision statement of the Main Street program. Winners will be selected by a committee based on set criteria and contributions to downtown.


The finalists are:


New Business of the Year: Buzz Mill, HEAT Bootcamp and Shine On Yoga

Legend Business of the Year: Gil’s Broiler, Showdown Saloon and Tantra Coffeehouse

Business of the Year: KnDs, KZSM Radio and the Root Cellar Cafe


The San Marcos Main Street Program will announce the winners at the 2018 Love Downtown Awards on Nov. 9 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hays County Historic Courthouse lawn, 111 E. San Antonio St.


San Marcos is also celebrating 32 years as an accredited Main Street city through the National Main Street Center. Current and former Main Street Advisory Board members, committee members, volunteers and City officials will be recognized as special guests at the awards ceremony.


Main Street invites the public to attend the ceremony honoring the outstanding businesses and partners that contribute to a unique and vibrant downtown where people of all ages connect, create, and celebrate.
