[ARCHIVED] San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter Pets of the Week

Cat of the Week: Cheshire Cat

Cheshire Cat is gentle and always wears a big smile—on the inside! This five-year-old cat does well with people and enjoys attention and affection. Cheshire is FIV positive, so he will need to join a household with no other cats.

Dog of the Week: Chaos

Chaos is happy-go-lucky and loves to play ball! He is a 2-year-old Australian shepherd mix who does well on leash and likes other dogs. He would fit well with an active family.

Modified Adoption Center hours

The Adoption Center will be open Friday, Nov. 9 from 1-6 p.m. for adoptions and reclaims only.

The shelter will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 10 to allow staff to prepare for adoption, transfer, and redemption appointments for those animals involved in the Hays County animal cruelty case. The shelter will also be closed on Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day.

The animal shelter will reopen from 1-6 p.m. for adoptions and reclaims on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Shelter staff anticipate continuing modified Adoption Center hours for the next 1-2 weeks.

All adoptions at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter include the pet’s spay or neuter, kennel vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip and city license. For more information, visit www.sanmarcostx.gov/animaladoptions or contact Animal Services at 512.805.2650.
