The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter is expanding its adoption hours starting January 2, 2019.
The new Adoption Center hours will be from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Saturday the adoption center will be open from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The shelter will continue to be closed on Wednesday and Sunday for maintenance and continued care of the animals. At this time, Animal Control hours will remain the same.
The change in hours is expected to increase adoptions by giving potential adopters more time in the evening to visit the shelter.
“Now those who are getting off work at 5 p.m. will have more time to stop by and find that special dog or cat to add to their family,” said San Marcos Animal Services Manager Kara Montiel. “For our animals, it means a better chance of finding their forever home.”
