LEGO Mania

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.

 

 Herbalism Club: Herbs for Health

July 7, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Let's talk about herbs! Join us for an ongoing herbalism knowledge-share with other local gardeners, foragers, and plant lovers. Feel free to bring favorite books, recipes, seeds or cuttings to swap, or just come ready to learn.

 

Free Dance Classes

July 8, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Creative Dance fusing elements of various dance forms such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Modern Dance. These classes will focus on the relationship of body to space and cultivate esteem toward expressing with the body. Some fun elements that will enhance the dancing curriculum are drawing, vocalizing, improvising, and using music as inspiration for “creating a dance,” also known as choreography. Multiple dance classes for ages 5-17. Limited space available. Registration required.

 

Teen Anime Club

July 8, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If you love anime, manga, or Japanese pop culture, come join us for a fun time watching anime films. Socialize, meet new friends, and discuss your favorite series. Light refreshments provided. Ages 12-17.

 

English Language Learners Registration

July 8, 6:30 p.m.

English classes for adults. Clases de inglés para adultos. Classes are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:30-8:30 PM. Las clases son los lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves 6:30-8:30 PM. All interested adults must attend an orientation before class begins. Todos los adultos interesados deben asistir a una orientación antes de comenzar la clase.

GED Registration (Part 1)

Adults wanting to prepare for the GED exam come register for our free classes. Classes meet Monday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Must return on July 11 for Part 2.

The library puppeteers perform a puppet show for all ages. Family Night happens every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in June and July. Each week features a different event for your family to enjoy together.

 

Computer Class

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.

Explore your creative side in this program that gets you designing and creating. Each session there will be craft, art, and maker projects to explore, or you can create your own design. The library provides all materials for suggested activities, but feel free to bring your own projects.

 

Adult Creative Camp

July 10, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Adult Creative Camp is open to any skill level. Explore your creativity and expression, with encouragement and support. The camp will include visual and written expression, including poetry, collage, songwriting, watercolors, and calligraphy. You will end camp with a book of your own creations. Space is limited - register today!
