San Marcos Neighborhood Enhancement Update

Keep Texas Beautiful (Sara Nichols), Keep San Marcos Beautiful (Amy Thomaides), Artist (Karly Schlievert) at dedication of the Help Sally & Freddie Save the World mural on 10/2. This was part of an EPA grant KTB received & is working with KSMB on different outreach and infrastructure to keep litter out of the Gulf of Mexico.

Neighborhood Block Party Trailer

Interested in hosting a small get together in your neighborhood? Our block party trailer provides everything you need, except the food, people, and fun. The trailer includes 6 folding tables, 4 folding picnic tables, 32 folding chairs, 4 ice chests, 3 water coolers, games include Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, Giant Yahtzee, Sacks for Sack races, sidewalk chalk, and a sound system. We also have a neighborhood movie chest available that includes a blow-up screen, DVD player, projector, and sound system. Movie is not included and the purchase of a public performance copyright license from an outside vendor is required. Transportation Corridors Study Virtual Open House

From November 2 to December 3, 2021, the City of San Marcos and CAMPO are hosting a virtual open house for the San Marcos Transportation Corridors Study to share refined design concepts for activity centers and transportation corridors in San Marcos! Need Housing Repair Assistance?

The City of San Marcos, in partnership with Southside Community Center, is providing housing repair assistance to residents through the Housing Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Housing Rehabilitation Program.

City Seeks Input on Five-Year Sidewalk Maintenance Program

The City of San Marcos’ Public Works Department developed an online survey to gather feedback on the City’s Five-Year Sidewalk Maintenance and Gap Infill Program. The department is seeking ideas and comments on sidewalk areas to include in the plan update.

The Sidewalk Maintenance and Gap Infill Program is a five-year plan that identifies improvements in areas needing sidewalk maintenance, where sidewalk gaps occur, or where no sidewalk exists. This program focuses on areas where no right-of-way acquisition is required, no major engineering is needed, and the projects are relatively quick and low cost. The budget for this program is $200,000 per year. More Information

Mural Gallery Dedicated

On October 22, The City of San Marcos' Mural Arts and Main Street Programs hosted a dedication ceremony for the Downtown Outdoor Gallery, 111 E. MLK Drive, which features work created by 8 local artists. Go check it out!
