  1. Adult Pickleball Open Play

    March 23, 2021, 8:30 AM - 11:45 AM @ San Marcos Activity Center Gym

    Pickleball is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. You must reserve a time slot to play. There are two, 1.5 hour time slots that are available each day Pickleball is offered. One is from 8:30-10:00 AM, the other is from 10:15-11:45 AM. You are only allowed to sign up for one time slot per day. There will be four courts set up, with maximum of four people per court with four people waiting/resting in each gym. It is open play for both gyms and the gyms are no longer designated as competitive or recreational. Participants must bring their own Pickleball paddles and ball (balls are available for purchase). Players serve only their ball. Masks must be worn while inside the Activity Center. All players must adhere to proper social distancing guidelines. All players must agree that they have read and understand the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department Release and Waiver of Liability.   1. Tales on the Trails

    March 23, 2021, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM @ Virginia Witte Way Trail at Schulle Canyon Natural Area

    The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, San Marcos Public Library, and Community Action, Inc. are partnering to bring you Tales on the Trails. Each month will feature a different story that you can follow along with as you explore our beautiful parks and natural areas. Our March 2021 Tales on the Trails will be set up along Virginia Witte Way Trail at Schulle Canyon Natural Area beginning March 2 and will feature Mr. Hare's Big Secret by Hannah Dale. You and your family are invited to enjoy a self-guided tour along the 1/2 mile trail, located at 100 Ridgewood. Don't forget to take a photo during your visit and submit via email to Catherine Marler by April 1st to be entered into a drawing for a prize!     Are you facing eviction due to COVID-19? Get your questions answered. Know your rights! Operating under the philosophy that everyone has a right to safe, decent, and fair housing, the Austin Tenants Council fulfills thousands of requests each year for help with housing problems. Austin Tenants Council programs focus on housing discrimination, tenant-landlord education and information, and housing repair and rehabilitation. Learn about solutions if you're facing eviction due to COVID-19. Presented by Lesly Ramirez and Solveij Praxis, counselors at the Austin Tenants Council. Registration is required. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. This presentation will available in English at 10:00 a.m. and in Spanish at 11:00 a.m.

    The librarians at the San Marcos Public Library are here to play matchmaker! Take a chance and let us set you up on a book date. If you’re lucky, you may even find your next favorite book! Fill out the linked form to participate. Based on your preferences we will place two books on hold for you. Once your items are available to pick up, you will receive a hold notice letting you know your items are ready. You must have a San Marcos Public Library card to participate.

  2. Golden Egg Scavenger Hunt

    We're celebrating spring with a Golden Egg Scavenger Hunt! Starting March 12 we will have 10 signs with images of golden eggs displayed between City Park & Children's Park. Starting at City Park, you will look for the first "egg". Each sign includes a QR code that you can scan with your phone to be directed to the participation form & next clue. Complete the form & use the clue to locate the next egg! You will make your way towards Children's Park where the final two clues will be located. Those who complete the scavenger hunt by locating at least eight of the "eggs" & filling out the Google form will be entered into a random drawing for a spring-themed treat bag. Treat bags will be available for pick up from the bunny himself via a drive-thru at the Activity Center on April 1 from 3:30-6:30 PM. The bunny will also be available for treat bag winners to take a distanced photo with! Participants will be asked to remain in their vehicles & the bunny will pose nearby for a photo.
